a subscription?

I’m Ashwin, the solo developer behind Hezel. No big company, just me. This is my only source of income to support my family and keep developing my apps.

As a fellow music fan, I make apps that try to enhance the experience of listening to your favorite music. My goal is to make Hezel an amazing app that you and I love using — and a subscription is what makes that possible. Let me explain how.
What a subscription means for Hezel
Your subscription means Hezel gets regular updates and new features while keeping its core values intact — user privacy first. I don’t show ads, track you, or sell your data. Your support is my only revenue.
Adopting things like Liquid Glass icon calls for a fresh app icon designed by world-class designers. That level of work depends on a steady stream — especially as Hezel grows with iOS.
My promise to you 🤞
- Regular updates that integrate the latest iOS features — Liquid Glass design, Lock Screen widgets, Shortcuts support, and whatever Apple ships next.
- I actively listen to feedback. New features come from your suggestions, not a roadmap I made up alone.
- Your privacy stays the priority. I do not track or sell your data. Period.
Is this just a cash grab?
Long-time Hezel users know I’ve championed the one-time purchase model. Honestly, it hasn’t been sustainable for Hezel’s future.
I’ve tried to price Ultra affordably — about the cost of a decent meal. The App Store will email you before each renewal, and if you’re ever unhappy you can contact Apple for a prorated refund.
4. But I don’t like subscriptions!
I get it — subscriptions aren’t for everyone. If that’s you, consider the one-time purchase option instead. Same Ultra features, paid once.
What if I already bought Hezel Ultra?
If you bought Hezel Ultra before September 2024, you already have the one-time option and you’re covered forever.
And remember — the core functionality of Hezel is free for everyone to use.
